Kenneth J. Loewinger, who served as a law clerk to both Superior
Court and Court of Appeals judges before entering private practice, is the
author of the DC Bar-published text for attorneys, landlords, and property
management companies in the Washington-Metro area on landlord tenant law in
DC. Mr. Loewinger was a member of the Mayor's Commission on Housing
Production (1984-1988) and has been a member of the DC Superior Court
Subcommittee on Landlord and Tenant Rules since 1977. In addition to his
expertise in real estate and landlord and tenant law, Mr. Loewinger heads the
firm's estate administration department and often acts as a court appointed
conservator or special master. Mr. Loewinger received a B.A degree from Georgetown University
in 1967, a J.D. from Georgetown University Law
Center in 1971 and is admitted to
practice before the local and federal courts of the District of Columbia as well as the U.S.
Supreme Court.

Michael E. Brand has over twenty-five years experience in real estate and
litigation representing clients in the private sector, particularly in real
estate and landlord and tenant matters, including eviction controls. He also
has extensive experience with HUD-owned and financed properties,
interpretation of commercial and residential lease provisions under federal
regulations as well as the development of non-discriminatory tenant selection
criteria for subsidized housing.
Mr. Brand supervises the firm’s landlord and tenant
practice and actively represents business and property owners in a broad
spectrum of areas, including commercial leases, residential and commercial
purchases, foreclosures and real estate broker disputes.
Mr. Brand received his B.A. from the University
of Rochester in 1971 and is admitted
to practice before the local and federal courts of the District
of Columbia and Maryland.
Born in New Haven, Connecticut,
he resides in Potomac, Maryland with his wife and two sons.
